Despite the absurd number of draft picks that Dallas gave up to get Roy Williams - seriously, they got totally fleeced - you have to admit that the Cowboys offense now looks mighty impressive on paper. Mainly because everyone's healthy on paper, but still, once Romo and Felix Jones are back, this team's offense looks like it'll be scary good. Too bad none of those guys play defense. But more to the point, as teams like the Detroit Tigers know all to well, just because you assemble a lot of talent doesn't necessarily mean it'll work out in the end. And right now Dallas may already have a problem with TO and Roy Williams.
The reason why is because as soon as the Cowboys acquired Williams, they signed him to a contract that is technically better than TO's. Uh oh.
As you may know, TO recently signed a three year extension with the 'Boys for $9 million per. Williams is also set to make $9 million per now as well, because his extension with the Cowboys is 5 years, $45 million. Now, while technically TO will make slightly more per year than Williams, Williams's contract has $20 million in guaranteed money, while TO's only has $13 million. If you don't think TO is aware of this, you're a fool.
So far, TO isn't saying much other than that Williams was "a productive receiver" in Detroit, but you have to figure he's pissed that the Cowboys made an offer to Williams that wasn't just in TO's neighborhood, but is knocking on his front door.
The other thing to remember here is that while TO has by far the biggest ego in league - to such an extent that he demands the ball be thrown to him more even when it's apparent that the Cowboys need to run more - Williams is no slouch in the "I love myself" department either. And according to Deion Sanders, Williams may not be ready to handle being option #2 in Dallas.
"Don't like [the Cowboys trading for Williams] one bit ... First of all, it raises your eyebrows when a franchise gives up their best player, their best receiver. There's a problem there. What's the problem? I don't understand. I've done my homework, checked on Roy. I don't think Roy's the hardest worker inside that Detroit Lion locker room that's coming over here.
Now, is he ready to play second fiddle? Because T.O. is the man in Dallas. Is he ready to do that? Is he losing speed? Can he get deep? What do they need?"

We also have to remember that there's only one football out there. How on earth are you going to keep Owens, Williams, Marion Barber, Felix Jones, and Jason Witten all happy? I don't think Barber, Jones and Witten will complain much, seeing as all three of those guys are true pros (Jones at least appears to be one so far), but I can't imagine they'd be too happy with TO and Roy catfighting in the locker room - or on the field - over who should be thrown the ball more.
All I know is this. As great as this offense looks like it can be, it seems just as likely to fall to pieces over stats, money and egos. It'll sure as hell be fun to watch.
