Is Russell Wilson the best choice for the Seahawks?
After acquiring former Packers backup QB Matt Flynn in the offseason for a pretty penny, Carroll showed that he was serious last week, when he named 3rd round draft pick Russell Wilson the starting quarterback.
Flynn is in the first year of a 3 year deal worth just under $20M. Wilson is in his rookie contract, which is usually peanuts for 3rd round picks.
Still Wilson has been the clearly superior QB in the postseason, and it looks like he gives the Seahawks the best chance to win football games.
The main criticism of Wilson has been his height. At only 5'11", he's not the ideal height for a QB. If he were 3 inches taller, he probably would have been taken 3rd overall, or at the very least, 8th instead of Ryan Tannehill.
Now, Wilson is getting his chance. Unfortunately, it's at the expense of Flynn, who excelled in his only start last year, throwing for 480 yards and 6 TD against the Lions.
Is Wilson the best choice for the Seahawks, or should they have given Flynn another chance to prove he deserves the job?
