Rutgers starting wide receiver Brandon Coleman will miss the remainder of the spring session following a knee procedure, reports Tom Luicci of The Star-Ledger.Blog Photo - Rutgers Football: Leading WR Brandon Cole to miss spring session

Coleman, a 6-foot-6 upcoming senior, led the team with 43 catches for 710 yards and 10 touchdowns last season and is a pivotal member of the offense moving forward.

"We thought this was the best time to do that, so he will sit out this spring," Flood said. "You will not see him out there on the field."

Although it is only spring, this isn’t a good time for Coleman to miss. Rutgers will be implementing some new schemes that new offensive coordinator Ron Prince is bringing.

The new system isn’t too much different from what former OC Dave Brock ran in 2012, but it is important to learn and get a feel early on so that you’re not a step behind once summer camps start.
