The New Orleans Hornet have arrived at a solution to add further pieces without imposing any burden on their salary cap. Previously, the New Orleans Hornets were trying to sign (restricted free agent) Ryan Anderson to an offer sheet. But when the New Orleans Saints finally decided against matching the bids on the power forward, the negotiations process between the franchise and Orlando Magic started taking a more solid form, and progressed with a promising speed.

Now the two sides have reportedly agreed upon a sign-and-trade deal through which the New Orleans Saints will acquire Ryan Anderson in exchange for sending center Gustavo Ayon to the Orlando Magic.

Ryan Anderson is coming off a great season after posting career highs in almost every key class, which won him NBA’s Most Improved Player of the Year award.  The 6-foot-10 Ryan Anderson averaged 16.1 points and 7.7 rebounds last season. It appeared that after such huge improvement and giving the player 61 starts, Ryan Anderson would remain with the Orlando Magic next season. Ryan Anderson had a 44 percent shooting rate from the field and shot 33 percent from the 3-pointer range. The New Orleans Hornets will do wonderfully at the front court with Anthony Davis sure to make blocks and Ryan Anderson there to space the court as he diverts the rival players out to the perimeter as they attempt to stop the player from dropping 3-pointers. Ryan Anderson led the league in 3-pointers made last season with 166.

The New Orleans Hornets will reportedly offer Ryan Anderson a four-year deal in the range of $35 million to $36 million.

The Orlando Magic’s new edition, Gustavo Ayon played his rookie season with the New Orleans Hornets last season. The 27-year-old Gustavo Ayon averaged 5.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and clocked in 20.1 minutes per game for the New Orleans Hornets last season.  Gustavo Ayon had 24 starts during 54 games with the New Orleans Hornets.

Gustavo Ayon, who is a Mexican native, has spent a longer term in the Spain’s top division. Gustavo Ayon maintained 65.7 percent shooting from the floor and averaged 15.9 points and 8.2 rebounds sin the Spanish Pro League.

However, the contracts for Gustavo Ayon and Ryan Anderson can’t be officiated before 11 July, until the league-wide moratorium on new free agency contracts is lifted on Wednesday.

The New Orleans Hornets can literally taste victory after winning the first draft pick in the lottery this year. Hence, they are expected to go all-in, and may still Phoenix Suns (restricted) free agent Eric Gordon with a $0 million offer sheet. However, Ryan Anderson’s signing and the addition of Anthony Davis will certainly mark the end of New Orleans Hornets’ association with free agents Chris Kaman and Carl Landry.
