Important For Team USA To Get Off To A Good Start

Here's the scene this morning at Valhalla Golf Club as Padraig Harrington started the competition on the first tee. It's terrible important that the US Team gets off to a decent start to take some pressure off.

I'd expect some changes by Paul Azinger for the afternoon session, but here's this morning's matches:

Match 1: (EUR) Padraig Harrington/Robert Karlsson vs. (USA) Phil Mickelson/Anthony Kim

Match 2: (EUR) Henrik Stenson/Paul Casey vs. (USA) Justin Leonard/Hunter Mahan

Match 3: (EUR) Ian Poulter/Justin Rose vs. (USA) Steward Cink/Chad Campbell

Match 4: (EUR) Lee Westwood/Sergio Garcia vs. (USA) Jim Furyk/Kenny Perry

If you're not as familiar with team golf, or not a golf fan at all, trust in that I think you'll find this entertaining. The crowds are not quiet and reserved, and the energy and emotion is palpable.

I say depending on which of the pairs golfers start the matches , Should or Could decide who wins each match. Now as for the four matches listed, I have to say this is what I think or hope happens in each. Match 1-Harrington/Karlsson (EUR) vs. Mickelson/Kim (USA) *My Pick is Team USA by 2-1 margin, Match 2-Stenson/Caset(EUR) vs. Leonard/Mahan (USA) *My pick is a draw, Match 3-Poulter/Rose (EUR) vs. Cink/Campbell (USA) * My pick is Team USA by a 3-1 margin, Match 4- Westwood/ Garcia (EUR) vs. Furyk/Perry (USA) * My pick is Team Europe by a 2-1 margin. So going by the scores that I put after each match the score would be as followed in the 2008 Ryder Cup ( I think but not sure it takes 17.5 points to win the cup) Now to the scores Team USA - 6.5 * Team Europe 5.5 , So with that the USA only needs 11 points to regain the cup. Oh and lets not forget in this years Ryder Cup NO TIGER. IF anyone else wants to take a crack at picking go right ahead and pick plus I'm not really sure I did the scoring right for the matches so If any one know how they do it let me know as is by the score they show after the match or is worth points for a win , and no points for a lost , .5 point for a draw

0	If Perry and Furyk can just keep close with Garcia and Westwood and win, that'd be the equivalent of a pick six in football. Could change this cup altogether.
