SEC Media Day kicks off today with all eyes on Nick Saban. That's nothing new, all eyes have been on Saban since accepting the head coaching job at Alabama. Some of the attention has come from Saban's peers - rival coaches throughout the South. These are coaches who may not yet have competed against a Saban team on the field, but they are not taking any chances in competing against him in recruiting.Saban sneak past a few recruiting rules? No Way! Actually what I found interesting is that the NCAA is aware of many secondary violations but it's concerned enough to take action. Saban is probably doing nothing different that most coaches, but I wonder if making zero friends will come back to bite him eventually.
In his seven months at Alabama, Saban's name has turned up more than any other coach's in other schools' allegations of secondary NCAA rules violations, an official with knowledge of the infractions process says.
