SI: A-Rod tested positive for steroids in 2003

4 sources have come to Sports Illustrated and have said that Alex Rodriquez tested positive for 2 anabolic steroids in 2003, the year he won the AL MVP and the AL Home-run title as a Texas Ranger. When a reporter tried to speak to A-Rod on Thursday in Miami he responded with, "I'm not saying anything."

This can be a huge blow for A-Rod and the MLB. We've seen how the Hall of Fame feels about voting in players who have tested positive for steroids, just ask Mark McGwire or Rafael Palmeiro. A-Rod is only 33 years old, and is just over 200 homers away from the all time home-run record, held by someone also linked to steroids, Barry Bonds.

This hasn't been formally announced by the MLB, MLBPA, or anyone in the A-Rod camp, however I trust SI's reports more than most. How will fans respond to this news as another baseball great from the 2000's is a victim of the steroid-era.
