Kevin Johnson, the mayor of Sacramento, is doing everything that he can to keep the Kings in his city. A new proposal from Mark Mastrov (24 Hour Fitness Founder) and billionaire Ron Burkle, may compete with the bid made by the Seattle based ownership.
"It's still a long shot, but the bid will be close enough to cause real debate," one source said.
However, Kevin Johnson feels that the city has better than a long shot. "We are still very much in this game," Johnson said in a speech. "I hope Seattle gets a team someday. Let me be crystal clear: It's not going to be this team. Not our team. No way.”

I don't understand. Didn't Seattle's biliionaire bidders already have their offer accepted? If it's not the Kings going, then who?
