Note: This is in reference to yet another incident involving a Penn State Football player
Dear Coach Paterno:
I realize this upfront, I will lose friends over this. I am fed up. Embarrassed. Frustrated. But the time has come: 2008 should be your swan song. Your contract runs out at the end of this year. No news on the progress of said contract?. What Penn State should be doing right now is develop an exit strategy that will not embarrass you or Penn State. I realize that the amount of time, dedication and loyalty has to be considered. I t was considered when you had several thin years in a row earlier this decade. It sadly cannot be considered anymore.
JoePa, you blew it this past year. 2007 was chaotic enough where you should have had PSU primed for a national championship slot. Instead, we play Texas A&M in some nothing late December bowl game. Yuck. Your players are killing you and soiling what was once a model program. You have lost control. The game passed you by years ago. Your game plans are so predictable my cats know when to blitz on your offense.
I bleed Blue and White. My idenity is tied into Penn State. It's who I am and what I will be. I am no longer able to stay on a high horse that is Penn State football. We are like everyone else. Please JoePa, do the right thing. Make 2008 your swan song. I'll be proud to celebrate year-round.
