Saints’ Jimmy Graham limited in practice, questionable for Sunday
Friday was the first time Graham participated in any team or individual drills this week. Graham has been dealing with a foot injury he initially suffered in the Week 6 loss to the New England Patriots.
Coach Sean Payton did not elaborate the odds of Graham playing Sunday’s game. But all signs point towards Graham playing in Week 8. He has been making good progress this week, returning to practice Friday, after Payton signified it as “an important day” in helping to determine Grahams’ status.
The Saints (5-1) will continue to evaluate Graham till late in the week, and likely test him out on the field Friday morning before making a final decision on his availability against the (3-4) Bills.
The 26-year-old Graham is one of four key Saints player who is considered questionable for the Week 8 game. After sitting out practice the past two days, running back Mark Ingram worked out for the first time on Friday, albeit in limited capacity. Ingram originally injured his toe during Week 2 had been inactive since.
Defensive end Cameron Jordan – who leads the Saints in sacks with five – and right tackle Zach Strief were limited in practice for a second straight day after missing Friday’s session. Both are officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Wide receiver Lance Moore (hand) is listed probable to return for the first time since Week 3, which is good news for the Saints especially if Graham is eventually ruled out for Week 8. Safety Malcolm Jenkins (back) also holds the same status as Moore.
Meanwhile, defensive end Tyrunn Walker (knee), safety Roman Harper (knee) and cornerback Rod Sweeting were ruled out for Sunday’s game at Superdome, after missing practice on Friday.
