Saints ink veteran DB Chris Carr to 1-year deal
Chris Carr was a reserve cornerback and special teams contributor for the San Diego Chargers in 2012. However, Carr only appeared in nine games to finish with four tackles, while returning five kickoffs for 102 yards and returning two punts for 11 yards last season.
The ninth-year veteran also made stops in Tennessee, while spending the majority of his career with the Baltimore Ravens and Oakland Raiders during. Carr has played in 114 with 14 starts, compiling 207 tackles (166 solo), 2.5 sacks, six interceptions, 26 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and 30 special teams stops during his entire NFL career.
Carr originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent out of Boise State after signing with the Oakland Raiders in 2005. The 5-foot-10, 182-pound Carr gained extensiave experience as a kickoff returner as well as punt returner with the Raiders and Titans during his NFL career. Carr also had a somewhat significant special teams role in his first year with the Baltimore Ravens.
He has returned 148 punts for 1,073 yards and has 256 kickoff returns for 6,276 yards and an average of 24.5 yards.

Two years later, Carr set a career-high by averaging 28.1 yards on 35 kickoff returns with the Titans.
