Things are not going too well for the San Francisco Giants. Their star player Carlos Beltran is the latest player injured, when he had to withdraw from the game owing to a severe pain in his right hand. He played throug 6 innings but couldn’t continue, due to the pain.

The team management has therefore decided not to take risks which would further enhance the injury and has given him full rest. The Giants are having a hard time fighting against their local rivals.

"I'm not going to worry about it, but I can't wait till tomorrow. If I can swing the bat and compete, then I want to be out there. If not, I need to be safe," stated the player.

The Major League Baseball Champions have been going through a rough patch since the start of the new season. They have already lost Zack Wheeler. They have not been able to get out of trouble ever since, and are finding it hard to maintain their level of play. The team has lost 8 of their last 11 games and many state that the departure of Zack Wheeler has unsettled the team. The injury to Beltran was the last thing the Giants needed at this juncture.

Beltran has played in all 11 games since his arrival and has managed to score only 4 runs. He has 11 hits total and has not scored a single home run, boasting an average of .244. Beltran’s credentials were better when he was a Mets player. In the last season, he played 98 games, scoring 61 runs in 353 bats, 66 of which were RBIs. H also managed 15 home runs with an average of .289.

Beltran was brought to the team for his impressive play with the Mets, but the move is yet to bear any fruit for SF. The player has struggled since his arrival and the defending champions need to get the system right before the season is lost altogether.

Their 8 losses out of 11 is the most urgent of issues that need to be dealt with. The Giants needs to get their focus back together and should accept the reality of playing without Zack Wheeler. All of the player need to contribute whatever they can and some of their players need find the right form. The side is currently six in the MLB rankings, with 63 wins and 53 losses. Despite having a slow start to the season, the side has started to bounce back.
