Santa Claus came early for the Steelers, showing up at the midweek Mike Tomlin press conference. This is was an annual tradition dating back to the Bill Cowher years, but word on the street is that Tomlin was less than impressed, and Santa won't be back next year.
Local sports announcer Bill DeFabio dressed as Santa, and brought gifts for Tomlin. One of them was for Casey Hampton. Santa gave 5 pounds of ground beef for Hampton, and said that Casey would eat it raw for a snack. Santa also addressed the LenDale White incident, where White stomped on a Terrible Towel. Tomlin claimed that he hadn't heard about the incident. My bet is that Mike Tomlin's a liar. Watch out for the coal, Mike. Lying to Santa will get you nowhere.
At the end, Santa asked if coach Tomlin wanted to catch a pass from him. Tomlin begrudgingly said yes, "if that will get you out of here". Tomlin's grinchiness is likely the reason that the tradition won't be carried on next year. Obviously, Mike Tomlin is too pimp for Santa Claus.
