McCain's VP choice was, admittedly, somewhat odd. Seeing as I oftentimes forget Alaska is a state, and so do most Americans, Palin isn't exactly well known.

But we're learning more and more about her each day.

Today's nugget of info about the former Miss Alaska runner-up (I'm not really sure that's as impressive as it sounds) is that she used to do sportscasting for KTUU-TV up in Anchorage, Alaska in 1988 when she was 24-years-old. And above is the proof.

She totally nailed those Iditarod highlights by the way.

As for her accent, I honestly can't peg it. It's like some kind of Canadian/Midwestern combo. And frankly, it's boring as hell. Hopefully she's gotten a little better at public speaking, otherwise I'm going to fall asleep during the VP debate. Although, in all honesty, I'll probably do that anyway.

By the way, it's absolutely worth it to sit through this entire video (or speed through it) to see the tense exchange Palin has with the male anchor at the end. Needless to say, he probably didn't think Palin would ultimately become governor of Alaska or a VP candidate. He also doesn't exactly seem to appreciate a woman doing the sports news.

Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I have a feeling he's wearing Sex Panther cologne.

It is not just women who deal with that crap.. I have had people assume that I will go back on everything I believe and vote for Obama simply because Palin does not have the same organs as me...

Hell, even the part of me that wants to vote for "the person most like me" prefers Palin to Obama..

If Palin's sex organs were different, we would be hearing SO MUCH about how she was a "man's man".. a sports-playing, outdoorsman type living out near the wilderness and only getting into politics because the local authorities were corrupt and he decide to make a stand and fight because he saw no one else was. That would be how it was presented to us..

You know what... I may not agree with who you want to put in power, but I can (and do) have respect for the fact that you are sticking by your values and making your vote based on who's views are closer to yours, not who's gender/race is closer to yours.
