All of you Sasha Vujacic fans out there, he’s trying to make a comeback.
The former Los Angeles Laker has been documenting his training all season long via social media. He even trained a few times with Shelden Williams, who is also a young free agent.
During the NBA lockout, Vujacic went overseas to play basketball in Turkey, which is why he’s trying to get a team to sign him.
ESPN’s Marc Stein has now reported:
Hearing: Sasha Vujacic working out hard in LA in hopes of relaunching NBA career. Determined to hold out for NBA instead of European return— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) September 16, 2013
According to one witness, Vujacic was a hit in Lakers' gym last week and has been looking sharp in LA pickup games after his time in Turkey— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) September 16, 2013
Earlier in the season it was reported that the Lakers may have been interested in re-signing Vujacic, but that interest has waned, and they are currently at a 15 man roster.
Vujacic finished his last year in the NBA with the New Jersey Nets where he averaged 11.4 points, 2.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 28.5 minutes. Beyond the numbers, Vujacic has always brought a lot of intensity and energy to a lineup.
