So far, he’s having his worst career season, making 7-11 kicks. Granted, there’s an entire season to go, but he’s already missed more field goals this season, than he did in all of last season.

Bobby April has been working with SeaBass and said:

“I think he feels that it’s not a matter of where the ball’s at, either distance or hash-wise. He just hasn’t come through with his timing and his rhythm. He isn’t getting all of his body pushing through it.”

Another factor could be Shane Lechler’s absence, since Jano played with him for 13 years. While the kicker is by all appearances a hard worker who is dedicated to his craft, it’s impossible to ignore the fact that he just inked a new long-term contract extension worth $19 million.

The last two seasons, Janikowski was the fifth highest rated quarterback, and this season he’s dropped to 30th.
