Senate to Investigate Patriotgate???

Given the state of the country, it's hard to believe that the US Senate doesn't have more important things to do than get involved in an investigation of Super Bowl cheating. The endless war in Iraq? An economy in free fall because of the subprime lending fiasco? Millions of Americans with no health insurance?

A recent book entitled "Collapse" discusses the root causes of the disintegration of various civilizations. If Arlen Specter's exaggerated concerns about inappropriate videotaping during a Super Bowl practice in 2002 isn't a sure sign that our society is headed down the Toilet Bowl, I don't know what would be.
