Manchester City attacking midfielder David Silva is excited to see compatriot Jesus Navas join him at the Eastlands. The Spaniard hailed Jesus Navas as a “great player” and claimed he will be delighted to have Jesus Navas playing beside him next season.

David Silva and Jesus Navas have played side by side for year at Spain. The international teammates have found beautiful chemistry between themselves, which is why the duo promises to be a formidable partnership in the Premier League.

Sevilla finally confirmed the sale of Jesus Navas to Manchester City on Monday. Jesus Navas ha revealed about transfer talks between Manchester City and Sevilla months ago, but no confirmation about the 27-year-old’s move to Manchester City had been confirmed by either side until now.

Reportedly, the deal has been struck somewhere around the €20 million region. Further details of the transfer deal will be revealed after the winger returns from the Confederations Cup in Brazil this month.

David Silva has made the transfer official and hopes to play beside his new teammate in the first-team. David Silva will have to wait a bit before making assumptions since Manchester City is still without a manager, although Manuel Pellegrini is close to acquiring the job.

“Navas is at a mature age, he is a great player and he will be very good for us,” David Silva told reporters at the Spain’s camp in Miami. “I am very happy to have him as a team-mate.”

David Silva also talked about the Spain’s upcoming match against Haiti, which is 63rd ranked FIFA World Rankings. The 27-year-old believes Haiti can create trouble for Spain.

“It is useful for us to play against these type of teams,” David Silva said. “They sit back a lot and then come out on the counter. It will be a good test.”

David Silva is looking forward to next season, having spent this season on the bench due to lack of form and nagging injuries. The playmaker has only five goals and 12 assists in 40 games this season.
