Shaq, Lance Armstrong, and Other Real Athletes' Bizarre Twitter Messages
Don't Worry, Real Athletes That Are On Twitter Leave Just As Ridiculously Lame Messages As You Do

Twitter - whatever you think of it - has quickly become one of the hottest things around. Because who doesn't want to know what your cat ate for lunch today? Whether Twitter actually becomes something substantial or is just a flash in the pan remains to be seen, but at least it's given us a window into the lives of athletes who have signed on and created an account (as far as I can tell, all these tweets are from the real athlete). Some of the tweets these athletes put out there are random, some are filled with terms like LOL that should have been outlawed a decade ago, and some are actually so bland they put me to sleep (yeah, I'm looking at you, Eli Manning).

Anyway, since all this stuff is public, we thought we'd go back and look at the some of the more entertaining tweets by pro athletes on Twitter. So here we go.

There's a case to be made that Twitter was actually made specifically for Shaq (THE_REAL_SHAQ). He tweets almost non-stop and has amassed a small country's worth of followers. You may remember that Shaq sent out a tweet a few weeks back telling people to come visit him at a diner where he was eating lunch, and two guys showed up.

Their meeting led to what's probably the most epic tweet of all time by anyone on Twitter:

Shaq's even at the point where he's telling jokes on Twitter:

And possibly even weirder than that, he's even letting you know that you can touch him for free tickets:

Meanwhile, there are other athletes who are the exact opposite of Shaq, like Eli Manning (elimanning). In other words, they suck, as evidenced by this thrilling Eli update:

Michael Phelps (Michael_Phelps) interestingly gave us warning signs that he was a pothead long before that bong photo was taken in South Carolina:

Shaq is the best athlete on twitter! He rarely talks about basketball, which is good, we hear that in the media. He uses Twitter to allow fans to connect with him on a personal basis. Michael Phelps is a moron. He openly tries to pick-up on chicks on twittter. Don't be so desperate, damn!
