Not surprisingly, a couple Kenyans won the Boston Marathon. On a day that was marked by relatively high temperatures, Kenyans Wesley Korir and Sharon Cherop won the Boston Marathon with slower times than normal.
Korir was the men's winner with a time of 2:12:40, and Cherop won the women's division at 2:31:50.
In the wheelchair division, Canadian Joshua Cassidy set a record, finishing in only 1:18:25.
Korir is the 3rd straight Kenyan to win the men's division, and the 16th Kenyan winner in the past 19 years.
In case you were wondering, an American hasn't won the men's race since 1983, and an American woman hasn't won since 1985.

Korir is pretty well known in running circles in Louisville. He was a student at Murray State (in Western Ky.) and he ran at U of L. Congrats to him.
