The furor over teenagers selecting among a choice of hats is finally winding down and come tomorrow we'll forget about all of these players for at least six months. After all, very few games were won today. But TOM LEMMING HAS ND's CLASS #1!!! Woo!! Tremendous upside potential all around.

What I do enjoy about this day is perusing some of the highlight reels of the top recruits and then choosing some middle tier players and deciding what's the difference. Here's some of the top player's decisions today:

Julio Jones (Farey, AL) WR chose to buy, er, accept what Nick Saban was selling.


Darrell Scott (Ventura, CA) is apparently the best running back and going to play BIG XII FOOTBALL!!!


A.J. Green (Summerville, SC) is just a little bit good. He'll be catching passes, and a lot of them, from Matthew Stafford. I'm certain A.J. could have beaten my high school team all by himself. I'm also confused how Rivals decided eight players were better prospects than him.

Dayne Crist (Sherman Oaks) not to be confused with Christ, is set to split three Heismans with Jimmy Clausen.


Lastly, here's a kid going to a school I love that had "zero-stars" in September. Isn't recruiting fun?


This sums up recruiting best: Kyle Wright was a must have, guaranteed pro 5-star recruits ... while A.J. Hawk was barely a 3-star linebacker that was too small to play at Ohio State.

he has a cousin that is either on the team or is on the coaching staff. Besides, Texas could have doubled what Colorodo was offering

We got AJ Green's QB coming to South Carolina. I'd like to think he had alot to do with how good Green looks on film, but I doubt it.

Butch Davis is a recruiting god. The two years Butch has had something to do with recruiting, 20 four star players and 1 five. The five previous years, 18 four star recruits and 1 five star recruit.
