Ski Jumping And Other Strange Winter Sports Await! [Winter Olympics Live Thread]

I know why NBC schedules their games the way they do...  They are trying to maximize viewers by mish mashing the days events together, saving what they think will be the most popular event for the end.  But as a viewer it is irritating.  They were showing some luge last night, which I like to catch.  But then they kept intercutting it with the short track speed skating.  Which I'm not that interested in.  So I do some other things and then they come back to the luge.  But then they cut to women's moguls.  That was when I got sick of their coverage and just turned the TV off.  It seems the only way to watch the games is to DVR their coverage and skip through all of NBC's crap.  But I really don't want to suck up that much DVR space with that much stuff.

sucks is putting it mildly. NBC seems to think the broadcast is more about them and bob costas than the actual events. case in point. on the top of the screen it said 17 minutes till apollo in the final. after the never ending commercials and the boring droning of bob it was clearly 35 minutes till the race started. show some other event highlights for christs sake.less bob, more sports would be better. NO bob and lots more sports would be ideal.

NBC sucks. That's why.

Thanks to NBC and all their stinking time shifting...  Those of us in the West can't take part in this kind of thread without being told what happened three hours earlier! 

Also, why the hell is my computer about 2 minutes faster in giving results than my television? I was trying to look at how to spell Bahrke's name, and already had Kearney's score up.

The drought continues...at least for now.

Heil just made them very, very happy now too - this being the medal round, a little more important.

Edit: Kearney might've just beat her though on the final run, wow.

Short track is the one event I'd love to watch outside of the Olympics. That final showed why, as well as why it ranked #2 in my event power rankings.

Ohno takes the silver and ties Bonnie Blair!

Wow! Korea had a sweep for the speed skating final, and two knock each other out on the final turn, Ohno gets silver, and the other American, Celski, gets bronze.

Men's luge starting now on NBC...Costas did say that Nodar's Georgian teammate did choose to withdraw today. I don't think anyone can blame him.

Is there "running up the score" and "sportsmanship" arguments in Olympic games too? I forget.

They might've said it on tv too, I've been flipping through this and the NBA All-Star events though.

According to the official site though, they advanced the guy who fell down anyway.

Both Canadians kinda got screwed in each speed skating 1500 semi's, one got third thanks to a late Ohno pass, and another got caught on the back skate from another skater wiping out, making him fall down.

Ohno with a little DQ scare, advances to the final.

Make that 13-0, Canadian women are trying to break their own record of 16 goals from Torino...against Italy.

All I know is Jen Heil made the Canadians very happy.

So the Canadian women are now beating Slovakia 8-0.

I can't say I understand moguls that much, and Todd Harris on the mic doesn't help.

I love how Apollo Ohno just sat back in the qualifier and then blew by everybody before they knew what hit them.

Men's 5000m speedskating was pure awesomeness. Netherlands/South Korea/Russia was the medal order.
