Slow Ride

3/25/14 in NBA   |   pigskinfan   |   44 respect

We slide into the midweek on another pretty fair roll, and we've got relatively light schedule to deal with for tonight.  As we all know, quantity doesn't have anything to do with quality, and by that, I mean that just because there are fewer games, it doesn't mean we lack in opportunity.  It's all about matchups and when they occur.  So, while there's not a whole lot going on tonight, it doesn't mean we won't be "busy".

THE NBA  (4-6 ATS/6-4 SU/4-6 TOTALS last night and 7-10/10-7/7-10 so far for the week)

BUTTA  (no play last night and 1-0 so far for the week)
Raptors (-4) over CAVS - Cleveland had a rousing comeback victory over the Knicks on Sunday, but it took a 31-point effort from Jarret Jack to get there.  Jack is a solid player, but to expect that kind of effort again from him would be sheer folly.  But this play isn't based solely on going against the Cavs.  The Dinos are in the playoffs, but they have plenty to play for as they try to hold off the Nets for the #3 seed in the East.  The Nets did them a favor last night by losing in New Orleans, and while there are some teams out there that I might be worried they would take the opportunity of that result to relax a little bit, Toronto isn't one of them.  The Dinos are a "lunch pail" group, and I see them working hard to press their advantage against a team that's dead in the water for the season and missing their best player.

ALL THE REST
Raptors (-4, O196) 112 Blazers   94
CAVS   99 MAGIC (+5 1/2, U206) 100

Thunder 102 Knicks (-6, O217) 124
MAVS (+3, U213) 107 LAKERS 107
NBA NOTE:
---I've got this crazy idea that the Knicks will take advantage of the Hawks dropping another game last night when they meet the Lakers tonight.  I'm not going to move on the game...yet.  But if the Dinos come through for me, I might rethink that.

COLLEGE HOOPS  (6-2 ATS/8-0 SU/6-2 TOTALS last night and 14-5/16-3/10-9 so far for the week)

BUTTA  (1-0 last night and 2-0 so far for the week)
More action in the NIT tonight, but I don't see anything in either of these games that gives me a strong enough advantage to do anything with.
