Team USA beat Costa Rica 1-0 during a snow storm in Commerce City, Colorado on Friday.

March Madness is really beginning to heat up… what’s that? There’s a World Cup Qualifier going on?
Yeah, I really don’t care. Its NCAA tournament time for me. Come again? It’s being played in the snow? Now, I am in!
Late last night a 2014 World Cup Qualifier game between the United States and Costa Rica became the talk of the sports world as it overshadowed the late March Madness games and became the talk of twitter.
The soccer match, which was played in Commerce City, Colorado, took place during a snow storm and was almost stopped several times due to poor visibility. Team USA eventual won the match 1-0. The game was like nothing you have ever seen, and resembled a mid-December NFL game in Foxboro.

The came was not almost stopped several times.  Unless you count ONE as "several".

Myself, a World Cup Qualifier takes prescident over any NCAA event.  Especially basketball.  (The only exception is perhaps if my alma mater is playing otherwise I REALLY don't care)

It was an interesting game, however.  Costa Rica had their chance to protest in the 55th minute when the refs halted the game to talk conditions.  The players seemed to want to play on.  In my mind rendering Costa Rica's two day late official protest of the match moot.
