NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma has to be one of the surprises of the Big 12 season so far.


The Sooners are 9-1 and their only loss came against then-No. 1 Michigan State.

Woodard was selected the Big 12 Conference Newcomer or the week and was also named the Freshman of the Week by CBSSports.com, in partnership with the U.S. Basketball Writer's Association.


Woodard had 24 points and eight assists in the Sooners 101-91 win over Tulsa. Woodard is averaging 11.9 points and 4.9 assists for Oklahoma this season. He's fifth in the conference in assists and is fourth in the Big 12 with a 2.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.


The Sooners have four starters averaging in double figures and newcomer Ryan Spangler is averaging more than 10 rebounds per game.
