National Signing Day: Wesley Green Commits to South Carolina
The South Carolina Gamecocks are not included in that. But a Top 20 class will do just fine. And the class just got even better with the addition of 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback Wesley Green.
South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier ripped Green away from his home state by topping Mark Richt and the Georgia Bulldogs.
While the Gamecocks haven't been heavily involved in all of the heavily hyped announcements that have come down on National Signing Day, they finished up with a fantastic four-star corner that will come and contribute on this already loaded defense.
Green joins other solid four-star cornerbacks in this class in D.J. Smith and Chris Lammons, so there's no doubt that Spurrier and defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward have added some outstanding depth at that position.
Again, even though schools like Alabama and LSU will get all the attention, Spurrier has built a very good class that will keep South Carolina in the mix for an SEC East crown for years to come.
Adding Green to the mix is just one more step in that direction.
