Spanish National Basketball Team Makes Racist Ad Targeting China
Uh, Who In God's Name Approved This Ad?
READ MORE:
There are some things that you just don't do in life. One of those things would be making blatantly racist ads. Right before the Olympics. That specifically target the host nation. A host nation which has a habit of making people "disappear."

But hey, I guess if you're Spain, which has been rolling in the sports world of late (until Sergio choked at the PGA), why not go all in, right?

Here's a picture of the Spanish national team that's part of an advertising campaign for the team's courier company sponsor. The ad's been running on a full page in the country's best selling sports daily Marcia. In case you can't tell, everyone's making slit-eyed gestures, including Pau Gasol there on the right side in the #4 jersey.

When pressed to apologize by the Chinese, I'm told the paper responded by saying "Me so sorry! Me love you long time!"

I'm just wondering how an ad like this gets approved, because obviously it had to go through multiple people before it was accepted.

You know what Sergio, I think a great ad would be if we got a picture of the Spanish team with buck teeth and slanty eyes.

Oh come on Fernando, that's horribly racist! Let's just go with the slanty eyes
.

Anyway, glad to see all the peace and harmony that's coming out of these Olympics. By the way, Spain and China play tomorrow. Should be fun.

I figured I'd let you guys mention that as well, even though the article mentioned it. It's like a racist version of "Where's Waldo?"
