We don't know what happened other than there was a shove of the travelling secretary over tickets for the Saturday game in Houston. I read a ridiculous comment here in a blog that asked WHY Manny needed so many tickets for an away game when he's from the Dominican Republic, grew up in New York and plays in Boston. I'll make it simple for you - do you know if Manny flew friends down to Houston, do you know he has relatives in the area, do you know that maybe he was going to accomodate a charity in the area? You don't, so before you even ask a stupid question as to why he wanted them, let's find out the whole story. I realize this is a Boston story, there is always the need to hate on the city for obvious reasons. Is Arlen Specter going to investigate this clubhouse incident and convene a congressional subcommittee on player behavior? Who cares right? It's got a big named athlete, he's on a Boston team, let the specualtion begin! 

 This is asinine, the man has not even been given the opportunity to defend himself but he's crucified for something the club has said was already dealt with, there was a heat of the moment incident and he apologized to Mr. McCormick and it's forgotten. But that isn't good enough for the media and certainly won't be good enough for all those Boston haters that can't wait for football season to start to resume Spygate, the extended version!

This is going to be the preface to it, this isn't going away anytime soon, hell I've already heard roid rage over this incident. You're kidding right? Has Manny's name ever been connected to steroids? Has the media ever gotten a leak from the league that he failed a test? Nope! But it isn't going to stop the countless accusations that are going to come in the next few days, not even close. Let's look at that for a moment. Manny comes out does a press conference and takes questions, the very next day there are numerous interpretations of what he said, what he meant, his attitude when he answered it because let's face it all the media are also Sigmund Freud's and can tell what his demeanor meant. People wonder why Bill Belichick made a statement and moved on, and I'm amazed that no one really gets it. What good comes from taking it further? He knew coming out and saying anything at all beyond his prepared statement would bury him, so what happened, he got buried anyway. I'll take being buried for not saying anything before being misconstrued by the media, which happens regularly.

I am not making an excuse for Manny pushing the travelling secretary, so don't even go there, what I'm saying is, don't crucify the man for something you have no idea about other than what some talking head  said. In the meantime to prove my point, the world wide leader in spin is showing the Youkilis-Ramirez altercation from the Tampa game last month. Something a month ago has to do with something that happened with an entirely different person in a different state while not even in a game situation. That makes a lot of sense, and if you really want this tossed down your throat, you want to listen to every possible scenario of what might have happened then I suggest you set your alarm and tune in to Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic tomorrow. I guarantee Greenberg will run with this, call this a cover-up with problem players in Boston, it will have conotations referring to the Tatum hit on Darryl Stingley and maybe even the Whitey Bulger most wanted conspiracy case! I'm preparing you for what is going to happen, because it's coming. Oh look, there's another play of the video clip from a month ago, what  is that now 20 times in 2 hours? I told ya, be prepared, but for once let the story come from the main participants and not some talking head that has yet to be picked for so much as a kick ball game in the school yard!
