I know most of you out there are probably saying to yourselves "You know what, collecting baseball cards just isn't what it used to be." And I agree with you. I mean, it's just cards. Sure they were fun to collect when I was 7, but now that I'm a professional blogger living out of my mom's basement, my palate has changed. I want something more.Luckily, Upper Deck has answered the call. And by answered the call, I mean they're sticking strands of hair on to their cards, with an added bonus: they're from dead guys. Uh, what?
Yes, Upper Deck is taking
Just so you know, some other famous Americans whose hair and authentic autographs will wind up on the cards include Abe Lincoln, George Washington, and Andrew Jackson.
Now, you're probably wondering how in God's name Upper Deck got their hands on so many autographs......and hair. Well, it seems they partnered with a guy named John Reznikoff who's known as "The Indiana Jones of Paper." That explains the autographs, but not exactly the hair. So let's let Reznikoff explain:
I have been in this category (hair collecting) for more than two decades and have been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as having the largest collection of famous people’s hair in the world.Nothing creepy about that at all, no sir.
So anyway, if you stumble across some dead guy's hair in your next packet of Upper Deck cards, you're a lucky man. Or a tangentially connected grave robber.
