Lo and behold I'm legitimately interested in a December NBA basketball game. Sorry, I just don't care too much until April, but this Eastern Conference Finals preview tonight is intriguing.
Like many of you, my earliest NBA memories involve a heavy dose of Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Isiah Thomas, Bill Laimbeer and Joe Dumars. The mid-80's games between Detroit and Boston were fantastic. You had little choice but to love this game.
Now that the Celtics are rejuvenated with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, there's little doubt we'll be watching another classic Eastern Conference finals between the two cities.
ESPN has a solid NBA doubleheader tonight, beginning with DET-BOS, so feel free to Q it up here.
The fact that the game came down to the last second is going to make my statement look dumb, but anyway...
I really don't see how anyone can enjoy any game with the Pistons. They were a product of a weak East, and wouldn't have a single championship, or conference championship, to their name if they played in the West. I can understand making an argument for the Spurs, but watching the Pistons is like torturing yourself. (Note: I'm still a little bit bitter from 2004.)

I agree with you about Detroit. They are pretty tough to watch sometimes.
