Intro/Personal:
Where did you get such an interesting screen name?
I'm not sure, I just wanted something original.
A new nickname I’m seeing around for you is Lo-Jo. How do you feel about that, and how did it come about?
It doesn't bother me I guess I like it OK, one I like even more is the one crackersexwife calls me - LoBo. Lobo is one of my favorite comic book characters.
Describe your idea of the perfect day:
The 4th of July usually plays out to be a perfect day for me. I'm around family and friends all day with great food lots to drink and I spend a lot of the day in a pool or The Lake getting attacked by my nieces and nephews. And I get to end the day by blowing stuff up.
Where would we find you spending a day playing hooky from work?
Either in bed hungover or on the golf course.
Tell us about the one day you would go back and relive from your youth:
Summers. Every day was pretty much the same. Woke up and played baseball until the street lights came on.
Sports:
Game 4 of the World Series back in 2005. Being a huge White Sox fan, you HAD to have celebrated big when they swept the World Series…what was that day like for you?
Awesome. Hard to describe the feeling after 80+ years of futility. A friend of mine brought a case of cheap champagne into the bar I go to and we sprayed it all over the bar and in the parking lot.
I have to admit that I don’t know much about baseball; particularly Chicago teams and their traditions. How does one…and by one, I mean you…come to be a White Sox fan rather than a Cubs fan?
Genetics. In this city you're either born a Sox fan or born a Cubs fan. It's really that simple. Once in a while you come across a family that has an outcast who roots for the other team, they're usually disowned shortly after they declare their allegiance to the crosstown rival.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Harold Baines. You have to love a guy that just shuts up and plays.
What’s your most cherished sports memory?
Winning the annual All-Star game against Russell Square Park when I was 11. I hit a bases loaded triple to give our team the lead and ended the game with a diving catch accross the foul line in right field. My own team almost killed me. Has that ever happened? Death by celebration?
We all have that moment as a kid, usually the first thing we remember that turns us into sports fans. What was yours?
The second Sox game I went to. The whole family didn't go, just me and my dad. We spent most of game sitting next to the bullpen talking to Steve Trout and my dad caught me a foul ball. We were on TV.
If you had your choice to attend any sporting event, anywhere, what would it be?
World Series at Sox Park in 2008. Hey! It could happen.
Just for fun let's say you could be the GM of any team and make one transaction (trade, add/drop, etc) ... who would you be and what move would you make?
Kenny Williams, and I would have gone after Johan Santana this offseason.
Between all of your favorite teams, you’ve lived through some great years and a few championships. What was the most exciting ever, for you?
White Sox 2005
What was your worst moment as a sports fan?
Are you kidding? There are hundreds. I'm a Chicago sports fans. With the exception of the Bulls in the 90's, good moments are few and far between. One of the worst had to be this year’s Bears team. I had such high expectations.
Do you have any of your own sports superstitions/rituals for your teams? If so, what are they?
None.
About the Q:
How did you find FanIQ?
Someone posted a link on the Yahoo! White Sox message board.
What’s the most bizarre Locker Room poll you’ve ever seen?
Some of the "would you rather..." polls are very bizarre. I like those.
What’s your favorite poll that you, yourself, created?
Kids books that didn't make it. There were some hilarious titles in there. It expired a long time ago though. I should repost it for all the new people.
Have you made any good friends on the Q?
No one I'm really close to. I mean I've never met anyone in person. There are definitely some people I would like to hang out with though.
Generic:
If you had to choose five CD’s to listen to for the rest of your life, which five would you choose?
Master of Puppets-Metallica, Doggystyle-Snoop Doggy Dog, Blow by Blow-Jeff Beck, 9th Symphony-Ludwig Van Beethoven, A Live One-Phish
You’ve asked your favorite female celebrity out to dinner at your favorite restaurant, and she’s accepted. Who is it, and where are you going?
Brittney Spears and I'm springing for White Castles.
What’s the boldest prediction you’ve ever made, and did it turn out?
That Rex Grossman would have a great game in XLI - HELL NO!
Speaking of bold predictions, what do you think your White Sox will do this year?
I think there will be a 3 team race in the AL central this year. I know a lot of people have counted the Sox out already, but I have a pretty good feeling they'll compete with Cleveland and Detroit.
Thank you so much, Lobotomy, it was great to get to know you better! I’m sure I speak for everyone when I tell you what a pleasure it was to learn a little bit about you. Good luck to your White Sox this year!
