After inexplicably waiving Stephen Jackson with just one week left of the regular season, the San Antonio Spurs have signed former NBA player, Tracy McGrady to take his roster spot.
McGrady hasn’t play in one NBA game this year; taking his talents to China instead.
Last year, McGrady averaged 5 ppg with the Atlanta Hawks, but failed to get a roster spot with any NBA team this year. So, it is a bit perplexing as to why the San Antonio Spurs would sign someone with only one game left of the regular season.
The Spurs do need a back-up forward, but in all likelihood, they will put Danny Green and Manu Ginobili in that spot while Kawhi Leonard get’s his 5-8 minute breather.
The McGrady signing may be just in case something happens to the often injury prone Manu Ginobili.
