Blog Photo - Stanford Football Recruiting: CB Terrance Alexander Spurns Notre Dame for CardinalThree-star cornerback Terrence Alexander, who was thought to be Notre Dame-bound, has committed to the Stanford Cardinal.

He's the 28th-ranked corner in the country, and the 19th-best player from Louisiana (247sports).

Alexander is 5-foot-10, 180 pounds and runs a 4.45 forty-yard dash. He also has a rather impressive 32" vertical leap.

ESPN's scouting report (in$ider) says that his speed doesn't always translate in game situations, but that he has "solid zone skills and can hold up in man-to-man."

He should be able to grow into a solid cornerback, and shows strength not only in coverage but also as a solid defender when stopping the run.

Alexander should be another good weapon in Stanford coach David Shaw's arsenal, and it's a blow to Brian Kelly and the Fighting Irish, who thought he was all but locked up coming into today's National Signing Day.

Alexander should be a strong corner at the collegiate level, and we'll see how he assimilates into a very good and physical Stanford Cardinal defense.
