Detroit won the first 2 games at home. Pittsburgh won game 3. It seemed like we were watching a reply of last year. But in game 4, the Pens took control in the 2nd period with 3 goals in less than 6 minutes. Jordan Staal got a shorthanded goal, Crosby finally got a goal, and Crosby set up Tyler Kennedy for a 3rd goal in the period. It's not become a best of 3 series, which means game 5 is going to be a very critical game for both the Pens and Wings.

Pittsburgh won game 5 last year in the triple overtime thriller, capped off with Petr Sykora's called shot on a 4-minute power play. Can they win game 5 in Detroit again and take the lead in this year's finals for the first time, or will it be the Wings taking the series back again? Whoever wins this game will have a chance to clinch the Stanley Cup on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh for game 6.

Wow, game 5 is gonna be the best game of the series to watch, unless it goes to 7. the Penguins are on a tear right now and really have the momentum in their corner, but the wings can never be counted out. the penguins winning in detroit is gonna be a huge boost to an already pumped up team. if the pens can pull it out tomorrow on the road i think they are gonna take the cup here at home in game 6. one thing the wings got going for them, even if they lose game 5, and then subsequently win game 6 i think the momentum shifts to their side of the bench, and they take it in 7. great series, and a well played season from both teams... with that said...

0	As i stated before the Finals began...the Red Wings in 7. The Penguins are much improved, and have great youbg stars in Malkin, Crosby, and Stall. The Wings are a veteran, talented team that relies on expierience, and never panics. The adjustment that need to be made, for the Red Wings to win, are simple...play solid defense, and stop turning the puck over, or it's game over.

The Wings are not the same team they were in the first 3 games of the series. In the first three they controled the neutral zone and Pittsburgh had a terrable time moving the puck in and keeping it in their offensive zone. In game four the Pens completed multiple deep cross ice passes. Pittsburgh is young, fresh and healthy. Even with home ice advantage in favor of the Wings I look for Pittsburgh to win two of the next three and take the cup. LETS GO PENS!!

I will be at a friend's 30th birthday party in Manchester, New Hampshire and will sadly miss Game 5. Although I believe his wife got a suite at the minor league baseball stadium we're having the party at, so hopefully it will have a TV. That would kick large quantities of ass.

kramer and I have been going back and forth about this privately, but we both agree Game 5 is pivotal. I saw a stat today that something like 14 of the last 19 Game 5 winners eventually went on to win the Cup. That's good enough for me.

I turned away from the game since it's outcome had no doubt. Did the Pens fall into that ridiculous "we're going to send a message" mode teams getting beat on the scoreboard tend to do?

I HATE that crap. Players should suck it up and take a loss like men.
