1979 Pittsburgh Pirates: the only team in all pro sports in the last 30 years to win game 7 of a championship series on the road
1984 Edmonton Oilers: the only team in NHL history to lose the Stanley Cup Finals and come back to win it all the next year
1997 & 1998 Detroit Red Wings: the last team to win back-to-back Stanley Cups

Pittsburgh is 4-0 in franchise history in game 7 of a playoff series. Each time Detroit has won the Stanley Cup, they've done it in 6 games or less. The Red Wings played like champs all season, never in question of whether they would get back to the postseason again. The Penguins were in danger of not making the playoffs in February and fired Michel Therrien as head coach. New coach Dan Bylsma was on the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim when they lost game 7 to the Devils back in 2001. No city in the history of professional sports has won the Super Bowl and the Stanley Cup in the same year.
After a long and grueling season, the quest for Lord Stanley's Cup comes down to the wire, game 7, one final game to decide it all. Every child who dreams of becoming a pro baseball, basketball, or hockey player dreams of playing in game 7 for the championship. We've seen a lot in this series, momentum shifts, domination, close games, and some great hockey. Tonight, someone is winning the Stanley Cup, but who will it be? Will it be Pittsburgh winning their 3rd or Detroit winning their 13th? Did Marian Hossa make the right move? If Pittsburgh wins, could it be said that Pennsylvania had the best year in pro sports ever winning a championship in 3 of the 4 major pro sports in the same season? The last question is debateable pending the outcome of this game, but the rest of the questions will all be answered tonight.
Come join us and talk (or vent) about the happenings before, during, and after the game.
