Stars players finally return to Newcastle squad after massive injury crisis
Newcastle United will have the opportunity to bounce back from their slump in form with the return of midfielder Yohan Cabaye. The French midfielder returns from injury to play against Norwich City on Saturday.
Yohan Cabaye, who evaded a penalty from the FA on violent conduct earlier this season, has been an influential performer in Newcastle United’s midfield this season. The news of injury to Yohan Cabaye left frowns on the face of manager Alan Pardew and for right reasons.
The 26-year-old has been the cornerstone behind most of Newcastle United’s plays this season. Yohan Cabaye is expected to come off the bench against Norwich City and later make a full appearance against Reading.
“The good news is we are taking Cabaye on the bus, which is like signing a new player,” Alan Pardew said. “I don't think he's really ready to start, if I'm honest. I think his role will be off the bench, if the situation evolves where we need him.
“Yohan is a great player and has lifted everybody this week, just in terms of picking passes out in training. It's just nice to have some senior players out there working hard and just his inclusion is going to give everyone a huge lift.”
Alan Pardew, who is still mourning from the loss of Demba Ba, understands that his team needs to perform exceptionally well to return to one of the top spots in the Premier League. A massive injury crisis took down Newcastle United a couple of weeks back.
Newcastle United have been gracing the field without Yohan Cabaye, Papiss Cisse, Hatem Ben Arfa, Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez in the recent games. Their absence is one of the reasons Newcastle United went down to Brighton in the FA Cup.
The Norwich City game will mark the return of Yohan Cabaye, Papiss Cisse, Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez. Meanwhile, Steven Taylor is expected to return to field against Reading.
“Papiss and Colo are both fit as well, so they will be in and around the team, and we certainly look a lot stronger than the unfortunate situation we were in last week,” Alan Pardew added.
“Steven Taylor will be ready for Reading and Cabaye will certainly be ready for Reading. Jonas is fit and he will be available for Norwich, so we are getting some senior bodies back at a crucial time.”
