July 5th 2009. These past two weeks have been one to see the passings of many celebrities and everyday people. This has also struck the NFL Universe. Steve McNair who played thirteen years in the NFL was tragically killed in Nashville, Tennessee on July 4th 2009. He was a great players and many of those who knew him said he was a even greater person outside the playing field. He played eleven of his thirteen years as a member of the Tennessee Titans. He was an outstanding leader on the field and even lead the Titans to their only Super Bowl appearance in the 1999-2000 season against the St.Louis Rams. He was one of three Quarterbacks to have passed for 35,000 yards and rushed for 3000 yards if I remember correctly. His final two years in the NFL he played for the Baltimore Ravens. Mr.McNair proved himself on the field of play and also to those who knew him and loved him. I watched him play from the time he was at Alcorn State University when he played college football. He is survived by a wife and three kids (please correct me if I am wrong). He was found dead with another woman who was later identified, but this is as far as I will go with that due to the fact that there is still an investigation going on and I don't want to put information down that could disrespect all the families involved in this unfortunate tragedy. I would like to send out my respects and prayers to all the families involved. Mr McNair, I would like to say thank you for sharing your talents with the NFL Universe as well as your friends, family, and teammates. You will be greatly missed and rest in peace.
