Mar 30, 2013; Sacramento, CA, USA; Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash (10) talks with athletic trainer Gary Vitti after leaving the game against the Sacramento Kings in the first quarter at Sleep Train Arena. Mandatory Credit: Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY SportsThis game is SO huge for the Los Angeles Lakers for so many reasons, like the fact that they haven’t beat the Los Angeles Clippers once this year, and they’re never been swept by them since they moved from Buffalo, but the obvious most important reason is wins.

The Lakers have made it into the 8th playoff spot and are half a game ahead of Utah. '

The Lakers also have 6 games left in their season, and the Jazz have 5 which favors the Lakers, but both squads are playing tough teams the rest of the way, and Steve Nash is still not available to help out his team.

The point guard has missed three games due to tightness in his hip and hamstring which were causing back spasms for him before. D’Antoni thinks he’ll be ready to play by Tuesday, but stated:

"It's serious because he's not playing. 'll probably try tomorrow morning, but since he hasn't (practiced), I think he's very doubtful (to play Sunday)."

In the meantime, Steve Blake has been doing a much better job than expected in his starting role. He’s been coming up with big shots, averaging 10.6 points and shooting 50 percent from 3-point land. The drawback is that he’s also causing a lot of turnovers. More than numbers though, Blake has been playing like a hungry player, not like a tired one, which is how he played prior to his mid-season injury.

The sooner Nash comes back the better, but he’ll definitely need to be healthy for any of the teams they have coming up, as well as San Antonio or Oklahoma City in the playoffs.
