Steve Nash has been plagued with injuries and after leaving Sunday’s game it seems like he could be out for awhile.
The point guard was diagnosed with nerve root irritation in his hamstring and back, and will be out for at least two weeks.
Nash talked briefly about the injury on Monday, and said:
"It's just slowly getting worse and worse… A little bit of rest might help, but you have to be more proactive with it, I think. I need to rehab, continue to work through it."
In an odd twist of fate though, if Nash can’t recover, then he could go into medical retirement. Nash would still receive all of the money left on his contract from the Lakers, but it wouldn’t count towards the Lakers salary cap.
Other than Nash, Nick Young, Robert Sacre and Elias Harris are the only guys the Lakers have on contract next season.
