Sunday Night is Sloppy Field Night in Pittsburgh: Steelers-Bengals Game Thread
by CriticalFanatic

They are claiming the field is in "game shape" but with crappy weather spreading throughout the East we'll have to see it to believe it.

Pittsburgh was helped by the Buzzsaw today with a Browns loss, so a win tonight will just put them one step further to the AFC North title. Cincinnati looked like they got back on the same page last week so I wouldn't put an upset tonight out of the question.

89% say Steelers

I'm more concerned with the need for Big Ben to out-fantasy Willie Parker. Q up the game here.

Knowing my picks, the Bengals will pull the upset.

This win can essentially cement the Steelers as division champions.  2 wins and a tiebreaker would be too much, plus they're still in the running for the 2 seed with Indy.

I really should check the weather in advance before picking a big spread...

I promise this will be my only post here on this topic (unless provoked), but since there is no game thread for it, I am posting it here.  There is a heck of a basketball game on FSN right now, with Texas beating UCLA in the 2nd half.  Definitely worth watching.

(Edited 12/02/07 9:24PM by MrNFL)

Bad time to fumble on that return for the Bengals, now the Steelers can go from down a TD to up a TD in a very short span.

Also, I thought Roethlisberger was short on that TD run, but no challenge, so it stands.

You saw the ball hit the goal line. Doesn't have to cross, just touch.

I wasn't sure it had even touched, but they really only showed one view, it might have been good.  (I don't have my Tivo taping this because the Tivo doesn't tape HD, and I just a week ago got NBC in HD)

Great play at the goalline there.  No one was even near Hines Ward.

That was a bizarre fumble, the ball just shot out like Parker had thrown it forward.

With 34 combined points, I'd say the field must be in good shape.

As good as you'd expect with the weather they're having.

Steelers seem to want to make this interesting with turnovers.  Luckily the Bengals help them out with key penalties.

And that's why the Bengals suck, so many horrible penalties in that game, they really could have won that.
