Who's ready for round #2 in the Keystone State? After a week of tire trash talk, I know I certainly am. Yesterday, the Nationwide boys went puddle jumping as NASCAR ran with rain tires for the first time. There's no rain tires today, but things could get ugly up in the Poconos. The forecast calls for isolated thunderstorms. Will someone be doing a rain dance after lap 100? Will they even get to lap 100 before the race has to be put on hold until tomorrow morning? What is going to happen throughout the race whether we get to see all 200 laps today or not? Will you be one of the many who calls off "sick" tomorrow to watch the race if it's rained out this afternoon? Let's not worry about crossing that bridge until we come to it.As for the race itself, what will happen today? Can Jimmie Johnson make it 2 in a row from the pole? Can Kasey Kahne become the 7th Pocono sweeper? Will Denny Hamlin win for the 3rd time at Pocono in only his 6th race? Will Brian Vickers finally be leading at the checkered flag here instead of getting passed in the last handful of laps after running at the front the entire day? Will a first time winner emerge? Lots of questions will be answered this afternoon when the green flag drops in Long Pond, PA. One question we won't have to ask is the one about tire wear since they've already run here once this year. Let's just hope the triangle in Long Pond doesn't turn into a long pond before lap 200!
This is your official open race thread to discuss the happenings before, during, and after the race...now LET'S GO RACING!
