Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsThe Super Bowl is only a few days away, and outside of the wall-to-wall coverage and endless Richard Sherman stories, there is still a game to be bet on. For those fans that are not interested in lines and spreads, there are numerous off the wall and oddball bets to be made that do not require much gambling knowledge to begin with. Here is a quick look at a few of the weirdest Super Bowl bets for Sunday’s game between the Broncos and Seahawks.
Gatorade Bath Color
No Gatorade/liquid bath: Even
Clear/water: +200
Yellow: +350
Orange: +450
Red: +750
Blue: +750
Lime Green: +1000
Hot Chocolate: +5000
Chicken Broth: +5000
Theses lines seem like standard affair for Gatorade color until you reach the hot chocolate/chicken broth section—and no I did not make those up, they are actual lines that can be bet on through The hot chocolate is understandable because of the weather, but chicken broth? Is that what NFL players drink on the sidelines these days?
MVP Winner First Thank You
God: Even
Teammates: +200
Does not thank anyone on the list: +275
Family: +500
Fans: +500
Coaches/Owner: +800
Peyton Manning is the odds on favorite to win the MVP award, but he doesn’t seem like the type of guy that would thank God for his own hard work. Taking the ‘teammates’ at +200 feels like the strongest play here.
How many times will Peyton Manning say Omaha during the game?
Over 28.5 Omahas: -115
Under 28.5 Omahas: -125
I wouldn’t even know how to begin handicapping this one. However, the man does say ‘Omaha’ a lot, so taking the over is probably the safest play to make.
How long will it take Renee Fleming to sing the national anthem?
Over 143.5 seconds: -115
Under 143.5 seconds: -115
Kevin Durant versus Peyton Manning
Kevin Durant Points: +7.5
Peyton Manning Pass Attempts: -7.5
Kevin Durant +7.5? You’d have to be insane to bet any other way. The Thunder will play the Wizards the Saturday before the Super Bowl and Durant should have his standard 30-plus points, so that would leave Manning having to throw around 40 pass attempts. The weather will probably play a huge part in deciding this bet, and odds are that the Broncos game plan will involve running the ball and controlling the time of possession.
