Will the Pats get a taste of revenge, or do the Giants pull off a repeat? [Super Bowl XLVI Live Thread]

2/5/12 in NFL   |   Jess   |   34925 respect

As any Patriots fan can tell you, the only way the Pats could truly get revenge over the Giants from 2007 would be if the Giants had pulled off an undefeated season prior to the Super Bowl this year. Since that isn't the case, they'll have to settle for just a little bit of payback. If the Patriots win today, it'll be their fourth Lombardi, all since 2002. If the Giants win, it'll also be their fourth win.

FanIQ has already provided a couple of in-depth previews; one Giants pick and one Pats pick. We've also given you a little sneak peek of this year's expected infamous Super Bowl ads

This weekend has been full of football greatness, as usual, with the NFL Postseason Awards, the NFL Hall of Fame class of 2012 Announcements, and even an interesting announcement by Roger Goodell regarding the possible elimination of the Pro Bowl.

And it all leads up to today's Big Game. A game predicted to be the best in years, if not decades. Without further ado, let's get ready to rumble! Who's your pick to win? Who do you want to win? Q it up here throughout the game. Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

Took Awhile Though, Finally Woke It Up In the 2nd Half.

Lose Twice In The Super Bowl Is A Bit Much, To The Same Team, IDK, I'd Be More Angry Than Sad, There Would Have Been Headsets All In The Air And Maybe A Torn Hoodie Around Coughlin's Neck.

Receivers not doing Brady any favors here.

Are the Giants about to lose because Bradshaw failed to pull a Brian Westbrook?

I like the way the momentum has shifted.

2/5/12   |   Debi_L   |   11868 respect

I want to point out that the non-football fan people on my Twitter feed (which mostly consists of DC political and policy reporters) are enjoying this. And here they call this city joyless.

After two plays Collinsworth said "the Pats look bad". If that doesn't prove his ignorance, I don't know what will.

So, if the Patriots of all teams are making stupid mistakes, is this a premonition that the Mayans were right?

2/5/12   |   Pat   |   5233 respect

Great play by Sterling Moore to force the fumble... sucks that the Patriots had 12 men on the field. This is ridiculous.

I know Belichick has plans. But you know as much as anyone how terrible the secondary has been this year.

I agree. I love Eli, but I saw a lot of mediocre throws and spectacular catches out of the Giants this season. Cruz and Manningham made Eli look even better than he is this year.

And you KNOW Belichick has plans to take the pressure off Edelman. He won't be isolated in 1-on-1 coverage against one of those guys.
