Forgive my ramblings, but I'm disappointed . . . .
The destruction of the Big East is On!! With founding member Syracuse, and 29-yr participant Pitt, moving on to join the ACC. Never mind, both are more than $100 Cab Ride from the Atlantic Ocean. Personally, I don't like this development, and truly don't understand what it does for Football if we have 4 Super Conferences, which are broken into Divisions or Pods (A Pac-12 Recommendation), which keep traditional rivalries alive. Other than more Control for a few Ego maniac's, wouldn't we get the same outcome with More Conferences and an End of Season Football Tourney?
I live in Big 10 or 11 or Now 12 Country, and I still don't like having Penn St. in the Conference. I'm a traditionalist. I think it's great to see Nebraska more often in the Midwest, but Nebraska vs Oklahoma or Texas are still premier games, that I hope don't disappear.
Basketball (The Original Purpose of the Big East) has lost it's power and over the College Landscape, probable because the NCAA runs that and not the Conferences, Why can we get Pickens or Buffet, to put up a bunch of money and just start a college football tourney? How much money would it take for Florida State to break the rules, and play for a privately sponsored Championship Game? How much would ESPN Pay for it?
Anyway enough for now . . . .
