For many, the people who announce the sporting events are as much a part of the sport as the athletes themselves. Just prior to Sunday's race in Louden, NH, TNT Play By Play Nascar announcer, Bill Weber, was suspended from broadcasting for the remainder of the airing on TNT. News of the suspension was made official Wednesday in an official announcement by TNT's spokesman, Jeff Pomeroy. Ralph Sheheen who had done work as a pit reporter joined Kyle Petty and Wally Dallenbach in the box for Sunday's race. Pomeroy states Weber is still under contract, though TNT is with-holding the reason behind Weber's dismissal from the show. "As this is a private issue, it's the policy of the company not to discuss personal matters involving our employees," said Sal Petruzzi, senior vice president of public relations for Turner Broadcasting. Witnesses in New Hampshire reported seeing Weber involved in a loud public confrontation last weekend at his hotel in Manchester, NH.
