Because I only report the facts here, I can guarantee you that this story is 100% true. And by "100% true" I mean "I have no clue whatsoever." But it's intriguing nonetheless. The Web site America's Team .info (yes, there's a space), is reporting that TO is going to get his own reality show that will be on ESPN later this year. Or at least that's what I think. The site editor says he promised not to divulge the station, but he did say it’s a major cable network that begins with a vowel.
To me that means ESPN or WGN (because W is a vowel in some languages), but I have no clue why the Cubs would be interested in TO.
Anyway, the one problem here is that everything is attributed to anonymous sources, which is OK if you're the New York Times, but not-so-OK if you're a blogger.
But I'm still inclined to believe it, I mean after all, Owens has more or less been a reality-TV star for the better part of his career. I'm shocked it took someone this long to realize they could actually make money off of his antics. There's also something about him being in Canada for some sitcom. If that's true, I just hope it's something along the lines of Hunter. T.O. as a streetwise homicide detective would be compelling, just for the sheer comedy factor.
Although truth be told, I'm not sure he's cut out for that kind of hard-nosed role. But at least we know he has range. Maybe a daytime drama would be better.
