During these three weeks of College Baseball World Series fun we're always privy to some exceptional defensive plays that outshine the pros on a nightly basis. Baseball Tonight often features a heavy dose of CWS web gems... and this play will not be one of them.
During Fresno State's continued Cinderella run, North Carolina's left fielder Kyle Shelton chased after a short fly ball down the line. Shelton made a hell of a catch, but unfortunately also ran head first into the immovable wall.
Face meet wall. Wall, face. Ouch. UNC also ran into the immovable postseason force known only as the Fresno State Bulldogs.

Sweeping Out the Trash Cubs send the big mouthed White Sox back down to the dirty South side, having lost six straight to the Northsiders. Aramis Ramirez hit his fourth home run of the series, and Eric Patterson hit his first of the year. Sunday Night Baseball idiocy nugget of the day: Jon Miller said Patterson was just like his brother in showing his big power. What? Corey Patterson has a .344 slugging percentage this year. Six total home runs. Nothing about that is powerful. The Cubs lineup, however, has had plenty and continues to lead the MLB in record and most runs scored. Cubs 7, Sox 1
Mark Teixeira Had A Good Day It doesn't take too much help to beat the Mariners, but three home runs sure helps. Tex had himself a day with home runs in his first two at-bats, then a third in the 7th. Unfortunately for his RBI total, not many Braves were on base during those plate appearances. Braves 8, Mariners 3
Youuuuuuuk Can have an MLB Walk-Off post without noting the biggest walk-off home run of the day, Kevin Youkalis' 13th inning blast to send the Cardinals home. St. Louis is clearly still tormented by the Jonathan Papelbon, Manny Delcarmen music video. Sawx 5, Cardinals 3
