I didn't find this gem, someone else (a non-NASCAR fan - guess who?) but I couldn't pass it up.
The number 3 car that Dale Earnhardt Sr drove to victory in 2000 at Talladega will again be on a racetrack, and driven by none other than his youngest daughter, Taylor.
No, she won't be actually racing the car, but rather driving it in an exhibition portion of the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Goodwood, England. Richard Childress Racing owner, Richard Childress, was asked to have the car participate, and who better to have behind the wheel, but Taylor.
Taylor isn't in the spotlight like Dale Jr or Kelley. You don't see much of her at all in stock car racing news, but just look at that picture and tell me you don't see the Intimidator all over again.
It seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, either, as Ms. Earnhardt is a champion in her own right. In 2008 she won the World Championship All-Around in Marshal TX. Taylor competes with a different kind or horse-power - the four legged kind, in barrel racing.
She also makes public appearances to promote selected memorabilia honoring her father's memory, such as this appearance at Texas Motor Speedway in 2008.
It's great to see the number 3 back on the track, but don't expect her to race in it any time soon.
