Taysom Hill Gets Cheapshot Hit From Pocatello High Player. Pocatello Coach Suspended.
This Seems Like A Somewhat Cheap Move

Problem: The opposing team's quarterback is too good. He's an All-American on his way to Stanford next year and you know that if you don't ring his bell a few times, he'll single-handedly beat you.

Solution:
Sure, you could take a cheap shot at him with a late hit, but that's too noticeable. How about you instead drill him right after he kicks the ball off on kickoffs and is left totally vulnerable. Brilliant plan!

Yes, that was indeed the plan used by Pocatello High School in Idaho against Highland High School star Taysom Hill not just once, but multiple times, during the teams' recent October 17th game.

Oh, and just so you know, the head coach of Pocatello was put on administrative leave for one game for these multiple cheap shots, but says he of course had nothing to do with them.

Officials with School District 25 placed Pocatello High coach Tom Harrison on administrative leave [last] Wednesday. Harrison has denied any wrongdoing. Harrison said he would never tell one of his players to go out and hurt someone.

No of course not. He instead said "go out there and *&%! that kid up." See, that's not the same as "go out there and injure that kid." It's almost a completely different sentence. Sort of.

Anyway, Hill is all right, and Highland won the game too. As for Harrison, his school completed the investigation and - surprise, surprise - found nothing wrong. So he'll be back on the sideline this Friday.

Let's hope someone cheap shots him on his way to the locker room at halftime.

Why was the teams "star" quarterback kicking off in the first place? No one else on the team could kick a football?? AND WHY, if it happened more than once, did his coach allow him to keep kicking off just so he could get drilled into the ground???

i was wondering the same thing. Why not send someone in to drill the guy coming to hit the QB kicker? If i were Hill i'd almost be more pissed at my teammates.

What douches the other team must be. They aren't men. At least if they're gonna hurt him, hurt him during a play, not when he can't defend himself.

Since when can't a kicker defend himself?  The guy can't cross that 10 yard mark until the ball is kicked. If the kid is that good of an athlete, he should easily be able to protect himself.  Maybe doing it multiple times was a bit much, but I would do that on the first play of the game to set a tone.  I bet his accuracy on his kicks were a little off the rest of the game!

Look any coach worth their salt understand that happens once, only once. It is bush league for a team to do that, but hey he is a player on the field and since it is not in the act of kicking, or getting hit from behind/below the knees, or after the whistle, then that player is fair game. If I saw that and I had to kick again I would be more than tempted to give up field position just to kick a surprise onsides right at that player. Let's see if he is willing to come across after trying to field an onsides. Which next to playing nose tackle is football's equivalent to running in freeway traffic.
