The Spanish National Basketball Team photo has created a great deal of controversy over the last few days. It goes without saying that the slant-eyed team photo was unnecessary and poorly thought out.
If the "Redeem Team" were to overlook Spain, that would be equally as poorly planned, but after battling Greece, I think Team USA is prepared for their best basketball yet.
This will be Team USA's toughest test yet, and they'll likely meet again in the tournament round. Spain is full of NBA stars, and more than anything, they possess a backcourt than can hang with Jason Kidd, Chris Paul and Deron Williams.
We've told you about Ricky Rubio, the Spanish Pistol Pete, but it's Jose Calderon and Juan Carlos Navarro who lead the back court. Rudy Fernandez of the Portland Trail Blazers handles his own, and of course, Pau Gasol dominates in the front court.
This will be a great game, but as always, as long as Team USA comes prepared and motivated, there's no reason they won't win by double digits. Especially if Dwyane Wade continues to lead the way.
